January harvest

    GP, We have no snow so far this year. We usually get a few inches each year. No heat in cold frame. I open it up when temps hit 40* or above. I'm amazed also. I really thought I'd find it all gone after last weeks temps.

    Ronni, There are REAL farmers/growers out there that grow in the winter for a living. I was just at a growers conference for the last two days and one man was from Michigan and he grows (mostly) greens for the winter in 6 hightunnels. They are each 30'x96'. He makes a living at it. He has a market for his products through restaurants and farmers markets. My goal is to be able to grow through the winter or at least a good portion of it so I have something I can sell or eat during the lull of the season.

    Tomatoes, beetroot, beans, cucumbers,chillies......

    Glad you have a good summer garden going. I'd give cash money for a real cucumber right now . . . .
