    Hi!!
My name is Heather and I have been married for 10 years. We have 2 boys. Brenden is 9 and Zachary is almost 7. I am getting anxious to start a couple of gardens but we have about 4 inches of snow that needs to leave first. I have a couple of flower beds. Nothing serious....yet.I hope to meet new people who share an interest in gardening.

Hi Heather and a BIG welcome to our great community  Seems like a lot of people are in the same position as regarding the snow so you are not alone. It will be gone soon I'm sure of it. Here in Ireland I have not seen snow for a year!

    P.S Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Hi Heather. Just popped in to welcome you to our forums. I'm from Scotland and we have snow here too at the moment. I'm also impatient to get out into the garden but at the moment the ground is sooo hard that we'd probably break our tools if we tried to dig. Can't wait until the ground softens up.

How about we all get together and send our snow over to Frank - can't have the poor man being the only one without now can we? ;) ;)

    Response to GardenStew

I planted some radishes, lettuce, sunflowers and sweet peas. I started them indoors and all started sprouting very nicely. I actually tranferred the radishes and lettuce outside yesterday. However, thanks to my dog, I'm going to have to replant them. This morning she decided they looked tasty and ate the little things right down to the dirt! I'm going to just put seeds in the ground now, because we should be past any real danger of frost. I'll keep you posted on the next batch.

    Trish

My dog does that, too. Last year I had tomatoes in pots and she took big bites out of them. She loves lettuce and carrots. I guess they are good for them. Dooley
