Couldn't agree more, Miss Liberty. We all have challenges that's for sure, not the least of which are those unusual and out-of-the-ordinary weather events. Sounds like you're having one of those at the moment. Time for a whole lot of smiling!
Marlingardener, there's no-one more laid-back and friendly than an Aussie. We're renowned for it, so that's probably exactly the reason your Australorps are so easy to get along with. I have to admit I've never heard of these hens, but if they're all the things you say then they would be well worth it. We used to keep chickens, ducks and even a rooster or two, but unfortunately snakes, dingoes and the horrible wet season conditions have all played a part in reducing the numbers of all of them. We have given up on keeping fowl now.
Thank you so much, Carolyn. It certainly seems like a very friendly place and I've really enjoyed having a look at the photos.
Welcome and can't wait to see photos of your garden. Great to have another friendly gardener here. Love your avatar. Beautiful and unusual flower.
I appreciate your warm welcome, thanks Petals, KK ng and Jewell. Petals it does look like a terrific site and I can't wait to see all the great garden and plant photos, read the blogs and join in with the forums. KK ng, yes I think you would know what a wet season is like! Jewell, that flower on my avatar is the bloom of a native tree that grows in the bushland around my home.
