My shoes come off when I come in the door. I have a pair of moccasins that I wear inside the house. Just so I don't step on something that will hurt my feet. I am a diabetic and foot injuries are something to avoid. When I was a child, shoes come off the minute you got home from school and didn't go back home until you left for school. We got new shoes when school started in the fall and they had to last for the school year. Tennis shoes for going places in the summer but not for home use. dooley

@marlingardener - prior to retiring I had "court" shoes as well and used to dread the days I had to go to court and wear them (and a suit too - UGH). All my (ahem) formal clothes left first thing I retired. Don't own one suit anymore. Now it is only spandex and cotton and comfy shoes.

I'm tallish anyway and heels do make me look nice but old age trumps fashion and comfort is the way to go. :like:

Yup I also do NOT like to wear shoes unless I am going into town. Then I have to put something on or people would think me a little strange. I am, but I do not want anyone else to know. Even in the yard I try not to wear shoes. I have a pair of sandal's I wear if I am watering or going out to get the mail as our driveway is gravel, but no shoes. I have even {I know what your will say about this} mowed the lawn in my garden sandal's. Both the rider and push mower have saftey shut offs. So my toes are safe. But since it took a few days for my toes to return to a normal color other than green. I have reluctantly had to wear my old tennis shoes when using the push mower.
Even in the winter I usually only wear socks indoors. :nerdy:

One of the things I hate most about working and winter is having to put on socks and shoes. I prefer to live in my crocs in the summer, although my feet still get cold sometimes. In winter, when I'm not going anywhere, I HAVE to have on those fuzzy socks that keep your feet warm(ish...they're great at first but after a couple washes they thin out and aren't so warm anymore)
