Hey I know! It is for making really big kettles of tea. You just pack the whole leaves in there and steep for a few minutes. Then you have enough tea to last you all week. ;)

I think I would put nesting material in it and hang it out for the birds...the only problem is the shape of the handle ...maybe if you put a chain on it and hung it the other way, the little birds could sit on the handle hanging at the bottom ... ;)

I saw one at the thrift shop today. Maybe I should go back and buy it. I still don't know what it is. I'll ask some of the volunteers there and see if they know what it is used for.

This is for putting your stuffing in and placing it inside the cavity of your turkey. When your turkey is done you pull the whole basket out and remove the stuffing from the basket.

Ohhh!! I think Carolyn has hit the nail(gadget) on the head, That sounds like something we would buy, put away and promptly forget its use. Well done Carolyn!!

Oh, you are welcome. I hope you put it to use this turkeyday that way you will remember what it is for forever. For me it doesn't look big enough to hold much stuffing or it is for a rather small bird. I am used to jumbo sized birds for the event and this doesn't look like it would hold much stuffing for a family the size of mine.
