If you look on the member map you will see a pin stuck in our back yard. Down and slightly to the right is the neighbor that has removed all the trees. Front , side and to the rear, so that the yard is now more visible from the air. Our visible tree-line in that direction is across the next street where some tall pines are eye-level. The only remaining trees are "in the woods" and are up a hill. Confused? If you are I can draw a diagram.

Bottom line: The neighbor no longer has trees in his yard on the same level with his house. Trees remain on the hill. We have more sun from a SE direction. I can now hunt for some plants that say full sun.

Thanks for making it more clear. I can visualize it now, and I envy you your hunt for full sun plants. :D Or, not quite envy. You deserve it. I just wish I could go plant shopping too. :D

I am so envious Jerry. Neighbors on the south side of us planted evergreens (Douglas firs) 20 yrs. ago. We've gone from sunny pleasant to shady scary. With ice/snow storms in the winter and the branches hanging 20 feet over the property it was worrisome this last winter storm.

Heat here isn't a problem in the summer. So I miss the sun warming things up in the house like it used to. Nothing is ever static in nature. Maybe we'll get to see some sunny changes also :stew2:

Here trees grow like weeds and I pull cedars, filberts, fir, walnut and a variety of other tree seedlings up by the dozens year round. Guess not every place has such an abundance of trees. I'll ship for postage :D
