Can you feel a bulb by putting your finger down into the soil a little way? If you have had it for a few years there should be a few bulbs formed.
More pictures of the crinums in my yard. This crinum has been in this pot about 1 year, it was a rescue. The all white flower in my other pics belongs to it. potted crinum ( photo / image / picture from featherphobia's Garden ) This pic of a crinum is from the very old plants, a friend gave to me from the yard of her 100 year old home. It has been in the ground for 15 years at my home. Freezes back and returns to bloom in July of every year. "neck" of very old crinum ( photo / image / picture from featherphobia's Garden ) This is a pic of the very ugly corn plant in husband bathroom. It is so neglected I do not how it survives, perhaps only to agonize me. I am embarrassed to post it, but to help you find out what type of plant yours is... corn plant ( photo / image / picture from featherphobia's Garden ) Hope this clears up the confusion Donna-featherphobia
Walter... any chance your sister has a photo of the flower? Or can describe it? That may be the only way to pin-point the ID.
Great Pictures featherphobia Those are helpful. There are some characteristics of each the corn plant and the crinum. I am leaning more toward the crinum from your pictures.
Walter... or at the very least ask her "how" it flowered. The Crinum puts out a tall stalk and around 5 blooms (all pointing in different directions) and the look like lilies.
