I love to see how creative people can be about their mailboxes! And also how people just couldn't be bothered to do much bar prop it up somehow.

Daniel those are great! You seem to find really artistic ones.

This one seems to be on a double tether: see the rope tying the first pole to a second one on the other side of the wall? No wait, the rope actually goes from a 2nd pole to a third one. That's a 3 pole mailbox!

Was that all of the mailboxes? No! Rufus decided on a different route today. New installment of "The Mailboxes of Clark County"! When will it all end?

I yam what I yam - Something out of Popeye?

I just thought this one was kind of classy.

This one took a lot of effort. Nice job I think. Solid.

Not a mailbox, but a tiny library. Take a book, leave a book, There are lots around here. I thought this one was nicely done too.

Great array of mailboxes, Daniel. I think your captions really embellish the already unique boxes. The little library is interesting, but when I saw those needles on the ground, I would have been raking that all up to mulch my blueberry bed with.

Very smart to use the Needle when they break down it helps provide acid levels to the soil for the blueberries.

Great mailboxes Daniel. I don't know which is my favorite, the Popeye or the brick oven one!

@Sjoerd only a gardener would have that thought about pine needles when viewing a photo of a mailbox!

You’ve got me blushing now, Cayu. I’ll hold my hand up to that.

Notice @Daniel W has a stream of really creative & interesting mailboxes? While I have a stream of kludge-job ones? Well mine have now descended into the truly dilapidated & mutilated category. Winter & snowplows are hard on our Postal boxes.

    PXL_20230324_210720637.MP_compress34.jpg
    This one's dead.

    PXL_20230324_202116257.MP_compress64.jpg
This one's decapitated. Notice how the owners have simply "righted" it with an open maw so they can still get their mail? It's been like that for 3 weeks. Oh gee! Now I notice they've given it a little booster seat to help our mailwoman.

Same mailbox post before they unearthed the mailbox from the snow bank.

    PXL_20230304_221433709.MP_compress9.jpg
    This one's on the bias.

    PXL_20230304_215321178.MP_compress47.jpg
    Another biased mailbox.

    PXL_20230304_213706455.MP_compress83.jpg
This one's been trying out for a role in the Exorcist. It's head is facing 90° off of where it should be... Hard to tell in the photo. PXL_20230304_213713717.MP_compress43.jpg
Same mailbox. Definitely a kludge job here. The box swings around on a gusty day. I bet our mail woman has an opinion about this one.

    PXL_20230227_154003105.MP_compress62.jpg
    Another fatality here.

Such is the life of mailboxes in our town. I bet they all wish they could relocate to Daniel's patch.
Could to think of it, I bet our mail lady wishes she could relocate there too!

Mate, I thought that you guys had a problem with bored youth and fireworks…but this, this is a savage display of malicious destruction. Chuckle.

Well, snow removal equipment cannot operate with the microsurgical precision of an eye surgeon, so there will be collateral damage. I guess the residents are resigned.

Sjoerd, yes I think so. I think it's why there are so many kludge jobs. You get tired of forever putting up a snazzy mailbox.
