The Mexican Mint Marigold is perennial here so yours should come back with no problem next spring. My Mexican heather has never gotten that large and it never returns up here, if it gets that large in your climate it will probably have no problem coming back next Spring. Everything looks so good. I don't expect to have much left standing by Tuesday morning, forecast now is for sleet and possibly snow Sunday night with ice on everything my Monday morning. Yipeeee for winter weather. I do not do countdowns to Spring, that brings the miserable Summer temperatures all that much closer and spoils my mood.
Hi Cheryl,..showing some nice colour there and interesting plants as well,..i always see something in your garden that makes me think perhaps i can grow it here,..i got some Confederate Rose Seeds of late and Texas State Hibiscus,..should be a challenge having a bit of Texas in my garden .
Toni... I patiently (well almost patiently) waited on the Mexican Mint Marigolds to bloom. I knew I bought it because it was a Native and a Fall bloomer, but it just seemed to sit there getting bigger and bigger. I had a talk with it and said "you'd better give me some pretty yellow flowers and not just a few or you're outta here!". Well... it listened! Almost too well. I practically have to shove them outta the way to walk past. Then the other day, I told them "Thanks for the flowers... now let's see what you can give me next year". My brother, who lives about 45 minutes south of me, has gorgeous, huge Mexican Heathers. I'll be tickled if these make it through the winter. And so will the bunny that likes to hide in there. I'm happy that you'll be getting some winter up there... and I'd gladly send any of our cold weather back your way! Our forecast have at least 6 days of low temps at or nearing the freezing mark. I'm pretty sure I won't have anything left after that. Philip... The Texas Star Hibiscus will probably love it in your garden. And us Texas Stewbies expect you to put on your cowboy boots and hat and pose with the first bloom!
