I was just thinking whether I should let the bed sit for a while before planting because the vegetation buried are all very fresh, maybe I should let them decompose some before starting.

I think I'll let it sit for awhile and add in the compost a couple of days before sowing.

Yesterday was a good day for me. After lunch I heard the neighbour's maid start up the lawn mower and that's the sweet sound of grass clipping for me.

By the time she finished mowing, it started to rain and I quickly got my wheelbarrow out to collect them. The rain started pouring when I was just about finish loading all the grass clipping into my wheelbarrow. I was wet but not drenched and it was all worth it. :-D

The rain stopped after about an hour and I continued doing the bed. More palm tree base were added to it so that there is an even spread od about 3~4 inches all over.

The sides of the bed were then filled with earth from the bottom part of the bed that was dug out.

Finally the bed is topped up with topsoil.

No planting will be done yet, I have decided to leave the bed to its own devices for a while for observation. Before planting I'll add in the nitrogen rich fertilizer and compost. If I have success in my worm hunt, then worms too!!!

KK... I can just imagine the look on the neighbor's face when you raced over there with the wheelbarrow to get those grass clippings! :D
It's looking very good and I just know that you'll have a good bounty out of the new mini farm.

Thanks Cherylad, :D the neighbour was not surprised at all because I had already ask him for it. I think they'll be wandering what I am doing when I start mowing the road shoulder grass. HAHAHA!!!

Thanks Philip, yes I like the bed to be flexible. The compost had already started. At the moment about 50% of the compost is from the old place. I had them packed and brought over. :)

Yesterday I managed to get worms from my mother-in-law's garden and I hope they would stay.
