Denee, the rainbow is beautiful, I haven't seen one in a while, did you get some rain? Bethie, I love your photos especially the passionvine flower showing through the leaves, really nice.
Wow you're growing Satsumas Sharon, I love 'em! I nearly didn't recognise it from the pic Oh speaking of amazing rainbows you would be hard pressed to topple these gems http://www.missouriskies.org/rainbow/fe ... _2006.html
I really enjoyed all of those everyone Thanks for posting them!! Denee I found the end of a rainbow one time!!! We were in our truck on the way to Crystal Beach and I saw something shining on my leg and it was the end of rainbow!!! Imagine my surprise!! I scared everyone in the truck when I screamed LOOK!!!! It was wonderful!!! BTW I love your balloon flower!!
Frank, we are trying to grow satsumas, they do pretty good in this part of the states and they have a while to go before they are ready, Nov. I think. Denee, I am so glad you got rain, we did too, and it sounds like we may get more, I pray.
I remember trying to run to the end of a rainbow when I was little. Until I realised that it was an illusion .
I know about that one Frank, I was in the front yard one day, look up saw the rainbow and realized it went over the house. I quickly ran around the house only to see the rainbow end in the back yard with no pot of gold there. I was one dissapointed little girl.
Heres my pics from this morning. Sorry some didnt come out clear but the lens kept fogging up. All this rain did wonders for the yard! Acidanthera finally openning Gay Feather- I love the "foofoo" look Light pink Dwarf canna finally opened Orange cannas....the sun was hitting it just right. What a beautiful pic
I think the fogging only added to the photos Denee. The Acidanthera looks especially nice. [offtopic] What's "foofoo"? [/offtopic]
Love the pics ladies, Denee, your Acidanthera is beautiful, I hope the rain helps mine to bloom. The plants look ok, I put bone meal on them when they first came up, just no buds. Bethie, I love the fern pic with the persain shield underneath. Frank, since it is her post I will let Denee explain "foo foo". I didn't know anyone else used that term.
Ginger leaves: Rose in water, DH has a bad habit of throwing the pruned roses on the ground, we mulched around the pots with cardboard liners from the boxes where I work and the rain collected on them. DD got a pic of this rose: Fading mushroom, wish she had gotten this one before it was wanning, it was a chiffon yellow, very pretty:
