Here is my Amaryllis blooming. The flower above has died back, but the plant sent up a new shoot and is about to open two more flowers. After they have bloomed, I cut the stalk off and then in the spring, after all danger of frost, I plant the bulbs outside in a semi-shady spot. In the fall I bring them in, wash them off and air dry. I let the leaves die back, and then put the bulbs in the bottom of a newspaper covered dishpan, and place them in a dark spot in my basement. When I remember them in December, I repot them and begin to water again. Voila, the cycle begins again.

Pretty pretty! I have two new bulbs this year and between them I had four flower spikes with 14 blooms so far and the last spike ready to bloom any day. They were kind of amazing!

I know! I've been in awe! I've thanked them many times for being so pretty. They've been in bloom since just around Christmas.

That is definately a "keeper". Must be a really nice sized bulb. Gorgeous flower color. :-D
