Thanks for your comments. Yes, it was a wonderful birthday and my husband did spoil me this year. The tub came from a neighbor who knew I'd find a place for it in my garden...in return, my husband will build her log railings for her deck (the barter system is alive and well in our neighborhood!). The tree behind the tub is an Amur chokecherry...fast growing, short-lived, and with that beautiful bark. My dog, Skipper, sneaks a bean or two sometimes out of the garden, but does a good job keeping the rabbits away! The sticks were collected a neighbor's farm. My husband cut down a lot of saplings and then cut them to fit for the fence. It's still cold here (I think it's the coldest spring on record)...I'm wishing for some sunshine now so that my plants grow.
