Hi Philip! Good to hear from you again! I think I have encountered you on another garden website. I got distracted by something & didn't put a post up, but you have been on my mind. The advantage of the other website (for me) is that it is SO easy to post photos. Just click & they appear. Unfortunately on Garden Stew it is still a multi-step process. BUT the folks here on GS are great. Very kind, very homey. Your garden photos are gorgeous. What are the long pink bells in photo #4 and again in #6? They are very distinctive looking!
Hi Cayuga Morning,..lol you may well have crossed paths with me elsewhere,..i seem to be all over the net Ah yes posting pictures with,.. ease and picture size is what draws gardeners to a site and keeps them there,..often thought to start up a site myself as i know what everyone needs by now. Ah those blooms are of Cape fuchsia 'Pygelius Funfare Orange',..i also have it in 'Candy Drops Cream',..though its more of a yellow bloom.
Y'know, this is really interesting! I have no trouble posting photos here. I can either link from one of my photo hosting sites, or just drag and drop from my computer to the posting window. I wonder why it's so much easier for me than for you? Philip, welcome back! We didn't interact much before....I was a Stewbie newbie back when you were here last Your gardens are just stunning!!!
Caught up with all of the 26 pages and posts in this Thread so anything one Clicks on will work. Still to catch up on time and seasons,..below is July Roses 2014. Video==Roses,..July 2014.]
Hi Ronni,..i do remember you well and those pictures of Misty Mornings,..the pictures thing is really what ever a person is used to,..every site has a software different to the other,..for example i have got used to not having to resize,..just click on the image,..it downloads as is,..then if one wants,..click on the image for a picture sized 3072x2304,..one gets used to the difference in Sites in time,..so one click on a shot was my system for the past 18 months
Ronni, for some reason my photos are all too large & have to be resized. Maybe it is my camera? Maybe it is because I use Picassa? I don't know. I just wish it were easier. Philip, so those are Cape Fuschia?!! Ah! They are beautiful.
Cayuga Morning,..that Cape Fuchsia is out in all weathers and thriving for me,..warmest temperature of late was 87F,..that is in my garden,..its fairly walled in. Below is the Phygelius 'Candy Drops Cream',..also as hardy. I understand about the picture size you are loading to your computer,..mine is always 3072x2304,..so for me and you,.. to load that size here is,..or was,..(have not gone that high),..out of the question,..many sites allow you to load that size image and its automatically reduced to site size,..sooooo i copy any images i have for here to a file 'GardenStew' then reduce it to size ready for download,..once i download it i delete it from my file named 'GardenStew' and i am still left with the original,..i use Faststone Image Viewer,..Free Version.
Hi Carolyn,..lol nice to see you as well,..hey our floods lasted from October to last week,..guess what its drizzle all day,..gives me time to catch up here.
Here its the 1st Day of Summer,..but spoiled by Drizzle all day,..we still have Daffodils and Tulips are just about to open,..lots of Hellebore in bloom as well. Split Corona Daffodil. Hellebore 'Double Ellen Red' Hellebore 'Picotee'. Hebe.
What lovely photographs Philip. I've been missing seeing what is blooming in your garden. I love your Hellebore 'Picotee' and will be keeping an eye out for one to buy here.
So glad you won't be disappearing any time soon Philip. It's been too long without hearing your news and seeing all the flowers in your garden. Now I can look forward to them again.
This Forum is the one i have remained in for the most amount of years,..has to be something going for it lol. Eileen,..you just might get fed up with all the pictures i have lined up lol,..our floods only subsided last week,..that was the state we were in since last October,..of course Molly the dog was thriving with so much water.
My Garden is almost walled in,..temperatures are much higher than elsewhere in the locality,..on the 20th of April 2016 it was 88F,..on the 23rd it was 78F,..its being around those temperatures since the 25th of March,..however it has rained and rained as well. Primrose and Cowslips. Tulips almost open. European Robin. Heuchera 'Palace Purple'. Heucherella 'Sweet Tea',..was bred using Heuchera villosa.
