    Love your Nasturtiums. I should have planted some this year but forgot to do it. :sulk: Those purple asters are a real treat to see at this time of year.

    Eileen,..i think it was three years ago that i sowed some mixed Nasturtium Seeds,..they have self seeded ever since,..nice to see those blooms but they pop up in the strangest of areas in the garden,..i guess the birds spread the big seeds.

    Last summer i came across some 'Daisy Like Flowers' which are only growing in one area around here,..i took some roots home and checked to see what they were named,..i decided they were 'Matricaria chamomilla',..growing approx 70 cm high/2ft 4inches,..scented bloom and foliage,..however mine have grown to over 122cm high/4ft so i might have to go back to the drawing board with the name,..it might be correct due to being in fertile soil,..below is how it is in the wild in the past two days,..also in my garden.

    I was thinking that those flowers above look like some type of fall-aster...I am thinking about their form and time of blooming.

    Hi Sjoerd,..definitely some type of Aster as the leaves are similar to my New York Aster below.
    IMG_5549.jpg

    We have five Daisy Type Flowers here,.. all related to the Asteraceae Family,.. they all resemble my plant but only with the bloom,..none of them have that Aster like leaf,..its possible a Migrating Bird brought in seeds seeing this plant is growing nowhere else in the area,..i will inquire more with local gardeners before i start searching abroad,..that could take time lol.

    Our usual Daisy Type Flower resembling this plant are;

    Oxeye Daisy/Feverfew/Sea Mayweed/Scented Mayweed/Common Daisy

    Back in 2014 i decided to grow Elephant Ear,..all went well until the autumn when i realized i had no space to take it indoors,..luckily a friend with a conservatory took it on board.

    Elephant Ear,

    At present i have some Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Arum Lily',..too late now for them to bloom but the leaves are huge and not unlike the Elephant Ear plant.

    Thank you Deanna,..i must admit that the 'Winter Sun' is the most neglected in my garden,..its just that it is almost indestructible,..needs no attention at all,..except when it gets too high then i cut about 3 Ft off stick it in rooting powder and when it takes i give it to a new home.

    An avocado tree here would be fantastic. If it bore fruit I'd be the first in line waiting for them to ripen.

    We're at the same stage as you are Philip. Autumn has taken it's time to get here but I'm not complaining.

    My Cape Fuchsia is also still in bloom...but just. That thing is taller than I am (I am ~6 foot 3 inches). I am well pleased with this plant.
