Hi Eileen,..ah yes the Hibiscus Woodbridge,..i wasn't sure if it would grow over here but as most plants seem to thrive in my garden,..maybe because its a suntrap and walled in,..i tried it out,..and success,..its a nice flower indeed.

Just beautiful Philip and a pleasure to watch time and time again. I can never get enough of your gorgeous roses but I wish I could breath in their scent as well as look at them.

Thank's Eileen,..there was a time that i wasn't bothered if the rose didn't have a scent,..then when the occasional visitor came into the garden,..first thing they did was sniff at the roses and i found myself saying,.. try that one over there,..its scented,..so now i take cuttings from only the scented ones.

Putting on a nice display just now,..Pieris japonica 'Mountain Fire'.

You're right Philip that is a Dunnock also called a Hedge Sparrow or Hedge Accentor. Yours appears to be a male who's probably on the look out for a mate. I have a few that visit here as well as the more usual house sparrows.

I have two hellebores flowering just now too Philip. They, along with the snowdrops, are the first flowers that appear in the garden each year and are a very welcome sight.

Eileen,..do you have yours in a pot or planted out,..i had mine in pots placed at ground level,..this year i raised them to a small garden table top,..just to keep off the slugs,..not a sign of the slugs this year.

I like Snowdrops,..and Crocus but sadly they would be dwarfed with all my tall plants,..mmmmmm thinking about a container,..lol if i have room for one.

    Primrose and Cowslips.

Mine are planted out in the ground Philip. I divided the common pink one so, technically, I have three in the garden. I've never had any slug damage to any of them here although the little devils make short work of some of my other plants.

The first year i had them it was those small slugs that attacked mine,..i killed them but only after the damage,..where i have them positioned now,..atop a garden table,..not a blemish thankfully.

This year i didn't have to sow many seeds due to plants self seeding,..the container below started producing seedlings last year so i decided to let them mature,..they all survived over winter plus more in other parts of the garden,..they are mostly Digitalis 'Foxglove',..and Verbascum niger ' Dark Mullein'.

More wonderful pics, Philip. congrats on having a dunnock in your garden. Now that they are there I hope that it stays. Will you put out some seeds for it? We feed them in our lottie and they are now present the whole year round. I like them. P place some seeds down on the ground and also on a feeder table and they now visit both. Those crazy things eat not only the seeds but also peanut butter! What a surprise.

Wonderful narcissus and Primula this time.
