My iris are all beginning to open too Philip. Yet another mystery though - my foxgloves seem to have vanished from the garden!! The bees are going to miss having them around.
That aquilegia thinks it is skydiving. Your flowers are beautiful. Rebecca is gorgeous as it the campanula
Oops my last picture came out first,..too late to start mucking about,..sorry Eileen,..i only have the one Iris,..i almost gave up on it blooming as its in my garden for the past two seasons,..still better late than never,..oh i do have two Yellow Flag Iris,..forgot about them as they are only in the garden a few weeks,..might try crossing them with the Iris in bloom. Your Foxgloves might have had slugs visit them,..i certainly had my fill of Snails and Slugs where i was convinced there were none left,..after a rainfall they appeared late in the evening,..i used a liquid spray,..invisible to pets it gets rid of all of them,..until the next invasion . =================================================================================== Cayuga Morning,..sky diving good description,..Rebecca is almost in full bloom,..it loves the sun and the Bee's love it,..i seem to have gone for the colour/color blue but wasn't aware until i looked at a photograph of the garden last season,..Rebecca,..Campanula,..Delphiniums,..all blues,..coincidence perhaps but noticeable. My Fuchsia magellancia Tree is just starting to bloom. Two rose bushes grown from cuttings and all from the one parent,..they are all different in shape size and colour/color than the parent bush. Hi Odif,..its a very hardy geranium,..i have had them for years,..they come in various colors and well worth having in a garden. =================================================================================== Below is an image from July 2016,..in the foreground and background are pink Malva Moschata 'Musk Mallow',..they were started from a packet of Mixed Seeds which were in a tape,..anyway after a few years they become leggy and the stems tend to go woody with just a small green growth on top of a woody stem,..the stem will break and the nice green growth will of course die,..shame to let this happen,..so i tend to cut off the growth from the top,..dampen the base of it,..dip it in rooting powder,..prepare a pot with damp soil,..poke a hole in the soil and insert the growth,..in no time at all one will have a new plant. The woody stem with the green growth on top. Cut the growth as shown,..dampen base,..dip in rooting powder and pot it. Lots of fluffy little Sparrows frantically flapping their wings as they learn to fly. So are the tiny young Coal Tits,..of course my cat is occupied full time watching for mistakes.
Hi Deanna,..delighted you looked in,..i know how busy you are so appreciate the visit,..ah yes a visit would be interesting,..of course your OH will have to come out in the boat as well,..some No ID Roses for you,..they are pink of course .
Cape Fuchsia 'Pygelius Funfare Orange'. Campanula and Harts Tongue Fern. Rose ( Rosa Fragrant Cloud ) Delphinium 'Bluebird'.
When one has a white bloom then you can see just how much dust falls in a garden,..second bloom on this plant. A new rose,..blooming from a cutting that took last Summer,..no ID Rose. Digitalis 'Foxglove'. Rose 'Rosa Korresia',..a new bloom taking over from the old. Delphinium,..they grew tall very quick lets hope they produce a good bloom. There are five rose bushes blooming on this pathway,..the red just started yesterday,..Rosa 'Fragrant Cloud'.
At this time of year its almost impossible to spot something new appearing among the mass of plants,..in particular where the tall plants are,..still a check goes down every day and sometimes more than one,..despite this something will escape my attention,..growing in a large container among the Tea Bags and alongside a rose bush,..there is an Arisaema speciosaum,..too late to move it so the rose bush will have to suffer its companion for some weeks. Another one kept to itself in a container,..the bulb of this is about the size of a grapefruit. Erysimum cheri 'Bowles Mauve',..its a Perennial. Hosta 'Gold Standard' and 'Hosta Patriot',..hardly a slug or snail damage,..so far,..all down to the band of copper around the containers,..it gives off a current when attached in a circle. General views. In the transparent container on the right above,..is a rose cutting planted in a potato,..Carolyn suggested this some time ago as there is one rose bush i find difficult to have a cutting take,..no problem with all the other bushes,..the cutting below,..looks good.
It is always so good to see all your pics of your stunning garden with the "who's who" of plants that inhabit it. There really aren't words mate.
Thank you Odif,..i do often wish i had twice the space,..then i could resume my Veg garden interests ,..never satisfied. ==================================================================================== Thank's Sjoerd,..isn't it a great interest,..no matter where i traveled i always started up a garden,..even on a rooftop in Soho England,..it didn't matter that nobody but myself could see it,..i was satisfied. ==================================================================================== Melissa officinalis 'Lemon Balm',..gives off a nice Lemon Scent when one brushes against it,..nice in Tea or when cooking. Variegated Mint.
We have got lots of Mellisa. We have never used it in cooking. Do you know what kind of dishes it is good for please. My wife has made tea or infused it with white wine.
