Stratsmom has offered to send me a hosta to keep Tooty's hosta company! So wonderful....thanks so much Strats!! Because of that, because I'll now have two hostas from my friends, I'm going to go full steam ahead now and create a Hosta Friendship garden!! I'll even post a pic on Facebook of that original hosta from Tooty, and see if any of my friends want to donate. It would be so cool to have a collection of hostas growing, each with a friend story attached!
Yay!! One of my friends in Atlanta is going to give me one of her Christmas Tree Hostas!! I'm traveling to Atlanta beginning of June for a whitewater rafting adventure, and I'll meet up with her then! Woohoo!
I had planned to send it this week but the week got away from me and I didn't want this little dude hanging out in some post office over the weekend I will dig Sunday night and mail Monday morning so that when you get him he will be nice & fresh! Some time ago Barb sent me starts off of one of her mini hostas and I was so impressed with her generosity! So, the way I see it one good turn deserves another so I'm paying it forward to you Speaking of Barb, I need to drop her a line. I haven't seen her on here for a long time.....
Oh excellent, thanks Deanna!! Barb is posting on Facebook, some lovely images of her gardens, her canning, etc. I wonder why she's not more on here? Hmmmm.... I have been offered another hosta from an unlikely source. A friend of a friend saw a posting I'd made on Facebook about my hosta garden, and contacted me through the friend to ask me if I'd like one of hers! Of course you know I said yes! This is so much fun....by the time I'm done, I hope to be able to tell a wonderful story via my hosta garden!!
And he's here!!!!!! Looking pretty dang good too!! I'm impressed! Thanks SO MUCH!!!! I'll have these in the ground hopefully in the next 24 hours! I'm so excited that my lone Hosta from Tooty will have a friend!! And weekend after next I'm heading to Atlanta to go whitewater rafting, and my friend there will be giving me a Christmas Hosta, whatever that is! Lovely.
Wow, he did travel good didn't he?? I have no idea what his name is but I know you will love him I read that hostas with white and yellow in the leaves are more sun tolerant than their pure green friends. I don't know if this is true or not, just throwing it out there!! Ronni, give him a good long drink overnight, he's probably pretty thirsty
Well, it seems to be none the worse for wear as a result of its journey! It's planted now next to its sister, and we'll see how it does as the days progress..... Wow, and look at the one Tooty2shoes sent!! It's gotten so big so fast, really dwarfing the newbie.
