Project still on I signed my work contract yesterday. We have been back and getting the house ready to move in. Basically the owner is a plant lover and has been planting for over 30 years. We get to look after it.
There are 5 hectares fenced off and the owner has been planting stuff for about 30 years. Lots of figs and nearly 200 blueberries. Many different trees and shrubs. All is drip fed and there are sprinklers, the system hasn’t been working for 3 years, so we are getting it going again. The fence needs repairing to keep the boars out. It is very isolated too. Loads of great big rhododendrons. The owner loves gardening and has done an amazing job. Quite a lot of work because the last gardener did nothing.
Yesterday I was up on the roof of our house fixing the damage done by wisteria and ivy and replacing broken tiles. There are two holes in the fence to repair. We are getting the watering system up and running. Cutting ivy about 1m below the roof line and cutting dead and fallen trees and pruning. When the tractor‘s new tyre arrives, we can transport all the cuttings to place. We will have a veggie patch too that is to make because it is just grass. We will use drip irrigation.
You had me at figs, isolated, and boars. The planting for 30+ years is a big bonus too. I would have moved there to work myself if I were younger.
