Wow, he is going to be a whoppa of a dog, and beautiful! My late hubby used to say 'you can tell the size a dog will be by the size of his paws'. We found a collie pup in a phone box, well hubby did and he said 'guess whats in my hand' pup was that small. It followed him everywhere, he took it to the pub, put its mild beer in a clean ashtray - we had him 10 years.
Kate, I love that story of your collie pup found in a phone box. Sometimes fortune decides we need a bit of a lift, and gives us a pup.
He was a very good dog all round. In those days we had no need to Insure. We had one or two dogs over the marriage. Sandy was our first; he died from Parvo Virus, had it as a pup apparently, it began in his back leg and travelled to his brain making him shake. He was a funny looking dog with Alsation ears and sausage dog height. Then came Prince; he was mongrel Alsatian/lab. Friends with all the kids who rode his back or tried to. When a knock was on our door his back coat would rise in anger but wag his tail too so he scared no one. Then the collie puppy in the phone box. We split as a couple and I went on to adopt two Bichon Frisé. Casper - White Ghost Kynismar Miss Millie died from Liver failure age six. Now at the Bridge. Loved my dogs and want another. K
Netty,..congrats on your new puppy,..gosh he has grown since the first picture was taken,..he has a lovely expression as well as a being a big boned puppy.
I thought you might like an update on our puppy Sargent. (Yes, I changed the spelling of his name ... I didn't like it the other way LOL) Here he is just a few days shy of 7 months old. He doesn't look like a puppy anymore! Sargent is a very active fellow, and definitely keeps me active. He is slowly learning to respect the cat. Feeding time is the only time they will be this closer together without a spat. And here he is with his best buddy, my daughters dog, Dash. They are definitely a handful!
oh my has he grown and is so handsome.. just the right size to be friends with Dash . We used to have problems when the door bell buzzed until we bought a doorbell from Home Depot that had songs on it...you can even switch it to holiday songs...the songs don't excite them like the buzz one did.
He's a beauty,..love the dark face markings,..i had to smile at the expressions of Sargent and the Cat,..Sargent looking like,..i am seriously ignoring the Cat,..and the Cat looking like its thinking,..can you believe this?
awwwwwwwwwww....growing so cute. I just put our pup on Fromm's dog food. Here I ordered it on line and it is made right here in Wisconsin. I have to check some of the Tailwagger stores around here or the smaller pet shops. I switched the 2 year old pup to it too and they both love it. I used to have a digger...I hope yours is easier to break than ours. Even with toys all around, the ground seemed more interesting.
Thankfully, He hasn't been too bad with the digging. There is one spot beside the garage that he keeps trying to dig up... there must be something down there. As long as he has a ball to play with, he's good.
