Cris, Have you thought bout setting a frost hydrant out away from the house? that way you have water and a hose hook up without dragging so much hose around. I have several of them and appreciate them very much. The one place I don't have one is in the chicken yard of all places. The hose is strung across the yard 24/7 for them. we did the work, so it was very economical to do install them, but they are still worth the investment.
Carolyn, I have never heard of a frost free hydrant but after looking at them online, I can see the value! I can think of several places they would come in handy! We have a very shallow frostline here, it is only 8". I will bring this up with my digging guy (hubby) this weekend, as he digs a hole for new mailbox! thanks for the idea!
