    I have seen where people will paint the outside of the tire white to cut down on the soil over heating. :stew1:

    Sorry to post twice in a row. But I have a question. In using tires that are made out of some petroleum. Do you think anything might leach into the soil and get into your veggies and harm you? :rolleyes: Just wondering.

    thanks guys,

    must admit this summer seeing all the work and planing come together makes it worth while.

    droopy sorry to hear about your temps. i'm lucky hear with very hot summers and very cold winters.

    tooty2shoes, yup painting them works well. As for toxic residues. There is a small risk, but the tires dont get that hot for any release in my mind, and if you swap the soil each year you reduce the risk.
