my vegetable jungle

    This is really the first year I've gardened, I never had much luck but decided I'll just change it! In winter our temperatures can drop just below freezing point at night so we get the occasional frost. But with this weird weather we have no idea what to expect from winter, its our hottest summer in decades so we might even just keep planting all the way. I've read spinach and such needs colder weather, I still have to research what I'll try next.

    Well, at least here spinach and brassica's do do better in cooler temps. Some brassica's can indeed take a brushing of frost...spinach--I'm not so sure. Having said that I grow Swiss chard to harvest in the winter. It does not grow rapidly, but it does not freeze to death.
