Cute Cheryl! Witnessing how much mayhem an approving Chippy can dish out, I hate to think what a disapproving one would do.
Like the others have said, it looks great. I hate to throw a bit bad news about the Dogwood. Deer love them. We have wild red twig dogwood and the deer and rabbits keep them trimmed nicely since they are over 3ft tall. I would put a fence around them in the winter. I sure do like the less is more factor. That neat blue vessel that is a water fountain is very nice. I'd love one in my garden. I do not even go out to often and look at my gardens as I can not get out there to work in them as of yet. But I am able to start putting weight on my left leg and walk with a cane instead of a walker. Look out weeds here I come one of these days.
What a transformation in such a short time. Very nice. Just wait til next Spring when things get very acclimated.
Tooty--Thanks for the tip about the dogwood. I will protect it in winter. Chicken wire is ugly but should do the trick. Barb--You are right, by next spring, things should have settled in nicely. Thanks.
Don't forget that human hair is a deer deterrent! You could just sprinkle that around everytime you get a haircut, or clean out your hairbrush. Folks around here pick it up at the barbershop or salon!
Ah! Good to know. I will try it. In another post, I tried to solicit help with deer/deer ticks. I like your idea & will try it.
I will post some new pix of my rehabbed garden. I am pleased with how it has turned out. Rehabbed section ( photo / image / picture from Cayuga Morning's Garden ) See the ?squash plant in front of the Hakone grass? It self sowed. ( photo / image / picture from Cayuga Morning's Garden ) I enriched the soil with compost from my pile and a ?squash? plant has appeared. I'll know better what it is once it begins to fruit. I am so pleased with how this rehab came out that I plan to rehab another section of the garden next spring.
I've been following this topic and can hardly believe you've achieved so much in such a short space of time. What a lovely section of garden you've created and you must be proud knowing you did it yourself. I look forward to seeing what section you do next. :-D

Self-sown squash has take over rehabbed section of garden! Self-sown squash has taken over rehabbed garden....and it has designs on the lawn!! It is now late August and the rehabbed garden still looks a lot better than before. However, I left a squash plant that had self-sowed from the compost to grow in the garden. It has now taken over!!! Can you tell? It has taken over the garden!
