Toni, It would be wonderful if you shared your recipe for Quince jelly with me. Would you PM is please??? Pretty please? I have done other jellies but never Quince. I barely have time to read things let alone post. The garden tour is June 27th. Plus we will have a private tour the next day for friends. You all are invited for Sunday. That one is free. LOL Let's see if I can quickly post some pics. Hubbies new smoker/grill. Now he loves me for real... Does anyone know what this green thingie is? I loved it so much I bought it without a label... I didn't care... One of my favorite Peony. Our new water feature. If you look the water falls over the water wheel and it makes the little man turn the wheel. There is a clicker noise every time he rotates his crank.
Beautiful photos Barb. I love your peony. Bowl of Beauty? that green thing is great too! Who knows what it is?! I bet your husband is reveling with his new smoker/grill. Very cool. What is that spectacular yellow bloom?
I don't know if I showed you all this but it's now assembled and planted. I had this copper pot around for many years. I used it for magazines. Now it goes with my copper flowers. Toni will be happy to know they were garage sale finds. LOL I snatched some Water Hyacinthus from my pond in it. this little froggie came with our generator shed. I picked it up from about 15 miles away from my house. We did relocate him when we put the generator in.. Isn't he a cutie pie???
Barb, YES!!! He's adorable! We once had a frog like that at our old house, some 20 years ago! I haven t seen one since. I wonder what kind it is.
He is just a tree frog from the east coast NE..... I had one in my convertible one time and he went miles and miles with me. He had a nice trip and then I parked the car in the garage and he left.. LOL Funny little critters.....
Wow @Petronius You have been digging up some good ones....I love our in all of our gardens...I had forgotten I posted these....
Barb, I never saw this post I think... anyway did you ever find out what the green thingie was? the foliage looks like helleborous... and what about the quince jelly? have you gotten enough quinces to make it? I have two jars of juice sitting on my counter waiting on me to get it made. my brother brought me a bucket of them but put them in my basement with a plastic bag on top of them instead of in my cooler.... some of them rotted. oops! I wish I would have caught that sooner. they sat there for a week.
Hi @carolyn Someone told me what that "green thingie" was but I have forgotten. It was supposed to be an annual. It reseeded itself and I had it growing for a few years. I don't think it is there anymore but the pot is...I should check later today. Also that "green thingie" is sitting next to some hellebore that was planted in the garden that spring.
@carolyn That is what it is...forgot to check that pot when I went out there this morning. @Gail-Steman This is the cutest thing. It is a noise maker. Water pumps up and flows over the wheel and the guy moves the water wheel. Every time he moves it, it clanks of wood banging together. Woman like it, men are distracted when they hear it. We left it out last winter and it either has to be repaired or junked...not sure...
Oh I would get it repaired as I find it adorable for the garden and I can imagine people looking at it because it's such a one off
