Welcome to Garden Stew from deep south Texas. This is a friendly bunch. I only joined a few months ago when another site I was on shut down. This one was recommended and is a great place to be.

Thanks again for all the welcomes. I can't say I've joined a forum with as much activity and organization as this one, and with members all over the world too! I'm gonna like it here!

A big hello Deb from Wisconsin. Glad you found this great site. I know what you mean about clay sold. Where we live in Wis we have a lot of clay soil to. Amending the soil is quite a job. But at least we don't have to much hail.
Some one said recently that "hail is mother natures Swedish massage". I'll pass on that kind of a massage. Again I know you will find this place full of helpful friendly folks. Looking forward to see your garden pic's once they get posted. :stew1:

Hail is more of a reset button here. I can't say how many times I've started plants from seeds in late winter, nurtured them for months, planted June 1 and they get erased in a hail storm a couple of weeks later. Then I have to go out and buy more plants!
