    Philip--Your compost looks so rich! Only us gardeners can appreciate how good it looks. And feel envious!

    Those white things are tea bags? I have been throwing our coffee filters and coffee grounds in our compost for some time now. I haven't "mined" that compost pile yet. I wonder if our coffee papers would still be visible like your tea bags.

    The paper in tea bags seems to last longer than newspaper in the compost,..so i take it your coffee filters might be similar,..they must add something to this type of paper as it holds when making tea or coffee,..but eventually it breaks down in compost.

    It should be interesting when you start mining :rolleyes: .

    A bonus came my way today,..some of the "Verbascium nigrum" that volunteered to grow in the garden were cut back due to my collecting seeds,..new shoots with flowers have appeared today.

    The Lathyrus odoratus",..are still in bloom but getting very heavy with just greenery so they will have to be disposed of,..i did collect seeds.
