Great photos of your walk... I can see why it's called The Golden Mile! BEAUTIFUL! That water is still rising, isn't it?
Water is still rising,..but slowly,..in the picture below the girl sitting with her dog is a girl i meet quite ofter,..she is from Bulgaria,..the jetty she is on will soon be covered with water. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden )
Spotted this lot of "Dipsacus fullonum",'Teazel',..during summer it has a beautiful thistle like flower. Hi Cheryl, i was tempted to take home a cutting or a root of the Teazel,..its not a very common thistle,..however like you mentioned,..i don't like being near them,..so i declined the temptation,..its hard enough to dodge rose thorns in my garden. Here is a Daisy i took some cuttings of,..i don't know which species as yet,..its about 24 inches tall with a small flower,..luckily i did just then as next day they were covered in flood water. Teasel is everywhere here. I dig it out as soon as I see it. It is a nuisance. It has very prickly leaves. and I do believe it only grows from seed. I don't think you can take a cutting of it unless maybe if you happen to leave part of the root in the ground and it re grows.
Hi Carolyn, i was looking out for Teazel all summer and found none,..the one area it grew in failed to produce any this year,..then by accident i found three of them further down river,..all three are still there,..lol.
It is our traditional start to spring,..and so everything is on the water. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden )
Hi Cheryl, i was away on a break,..i needed to get away from the pets for a spell and the opportunity arose so off i went,.. sometimes its like having a house full of children, lol.
Mushrooms glazed or unglazed,..still very striking yellow. Hi Carolyn, i am not 100 per cent sure,..but i think they are some species of Cotoneaster,..they are growing on the river bank not far from my house and are with berries just now.
