    Water is still rising,..but slowly,..in the picture below the girl sitting with her dog is a girl i meet quite ofter,..she is from Bulgaria,..the jetty she is on will soon be covered with water.

    Hi Cheryl,
    i was tempted to take home a cutting or a root of the Teazel,..its not a very common thistle,..however like you mentioned,..i don't like being near them,..so i declined the temptation,..its hard enough to dodge rose thorns in my garden.

    Here is a Daisy i took some cuttings of,..i don't know which species as yet,..its about 24 inches tall with a small flower,..luckily i did just then as next day they were covered in flood water.

    Teasel is everywhere here. I dig it out as soon as I see it. It is a nuisance. It has very prickly leaves. and I do believe it only grows from seed. I don't think you can take a cutting of it unless maybe if you happen to leave part of the root in the ground and it re grows.

    Hi Carolyn,
    i was looking out for Teazel all summer and found none,..the one area it grew in failed to produce any this year,..then by accident i found three of them further down river,..all three are still there,..lol.

    i was away on a break,..i needed to get away from the pets for a spell and the opportunity arose so off i went,.. sometimes its like having a house full of children,lol.

    Hi Carolyn,
    i am not 100 per cent sure,..but i think they are some species of Cotoneaster,..they are growing on the river bank not far from my house and are with berries just now.
