Well I guess I could try sun catchers in my smaller window over my sink. Seeing a few of you have had success with them. I had a downy woodpecker hit that window this morning. Went out and there it lay, but still alive. So I again picked that little cutie up and prayed over it. It snapped to and flew off. What a blessing. My big kitchen measures 4ft high and 8ft wide. I would be kind of expensive to put sun catchers in each of the 32 smaller window panes it has. I am going to buy a lace curtain and try that. They won't be able to see threw it and I am hoping that will keep them from flying into it. I think one main reason the birds tend to fly into this window, is that you can see straight through to the patio door in the living room. They must think they can fly straight threw. ouch! Kate thanks for the great photo of the Oven bird. Sherry from the article I read they are pretty much ground dwelling. But will sit in lower shrub branchs. Their song sounds like; teacher, teacher, teacher. I know I have heard them in the woods behind our property. But I never knew where to look for them. Now I will keep my eyes peeled on the ground next year. Hopefully I will be able to spot one.
