    Beautiful pineapple!

    I am delighted to see that planting a pineapple crown actually does eventually produce delicious fruit. My daughter started one about 4 months ago. It is doing well, but we will see how it does over the winter. Hopefully it will be okay here in zone 9b-10a.

    Good luck to your daughters pineapple. I hope she planted it in a pot because pineapple are damaged at 32ºF degrees and may die at 28ºF degrees. If she planted it in a pot, then the pineapple plant can be brought indoors.

    Yes, it is currently in a great big pot on the porch in a sheltered spot. It might like more sun than it is getting right now. I had been debated on whether or not to bring it in for the winter as a house plant. Our temps don't often get down to 32, but it does happen in some years. Maybe I'll just keep an eye on the forecasts and only bring it in on the freezing nights.
