As of midnight on Feb. 26, we broke the record set 100 years ago. The old record was 29.2 inches. We are now at 29.5 with 2 days left to go. That's more snow than we normally get in a season, let alone one month!
Way to go Capt Kirk... you survived the record snowfalls of 2009-10! We broke many snow records this season too -- I don't know about you but I took a sort pleasure in seeing that, for some reason! Maybe a survival thing. Our "normal" is only 18 inches (about 46 cm). The previous record in 1995-96 was 62 inches (157 cm). Believe it or not, this winter we've gotten a season total of (drumroll) more than 80 inches (203 cm). It sounds even worse in cm... Thank goodness this will probably not happen again for a very very long time.
Just turned on the back light and looked out the window, more white crap coming down. Looks like we will probably hit 30 inches or more! I am soooo tired of snow!
I feel sorry for you Captain Kirk, I just thought we had a lot of snow here, but we have nothing on you! It is almost March, so maybe things will turn around soon. I hope so, just the little amounts of snow we've had, has made me a little blue. I can't imagine what a winter like you've had would be like. Good Luck!
They are saying just flurries today, so no measurable snow expected. The total snowfall for Feb. is 30.1 Average for us in Feb. is 6.5. The average for the season is 18 inches.
