Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, Kanutte and Truls enjoyed a very special relationship. So far Truls is fine. He's got his horse friends around him. Poor Tigger, Kanutte's son, is looking for his mom all over the place. It's just so sad.

The other horses also liked Kanutte. She was such a gentle little cat.

Our youngest daughter was heart-broken. She cried very hard, poor thing. Then after a while she told us that she was just sad on the inside, so I guess she's done crying.

The people who run the stables are on the look-out for the perpetrator. We've got the car make and a description so once we spot the chap he's in for a rough time. It's prohibited by law to drive on without checking on a hit animal.

Even with all the animals at the stables there's a feeling of emptiness. We all expect to see her walk in.

Droopy I am so so sorry for your loss :'( Please give your girls a hug for me.
I had to put my Missy Mama to sleep on the 30th and I'm still having a really hard time. She was the most amazing animal I have ever had. You are all in my thoughts

She was very close to 20 years old and had gotten so thin. She couldn't keep anything down and was just wasting away. I hope she didn't suffer too much. I just couldn't let her go

Strats, sorry to hear that. It sounds like it was for the best though if her quality of life was suffering badly.

Stratsmom, I am so very sorry. :( These furry little creatures that we call "pets" have a way of becoming family and burrowing deep into our hearts.

    My condolences.

Deanna, it sounds like you did the best for Missy, even though it's a hard decision to make. I'm so sorry for you all.

We had Spooky less than 11 months, he was so loving, had become very relaxed with us and his new home. He was getting us trained the way he wanted us, he would spent hours either laying on Randy's legs in the recliner or laying across my lap in the evenings, sometimes watching TV with us but mostly just sleeping.

He died sometime early this morning, he was fine when Randy got up about 4:30 to take some of his meds but when I got up around 7:30 he was dead. The vet had told us when we first got him that it looked like he had been abused by his previous owner, 4 front teeth were missing and that had to have been a hard hit to the head, so we are thinking that there was more to the injury than we knew and it finally took him. But I know his life in the last 11 months was filled with good food, lots of playing and lots of love.....but oh my gosh I miss him.
