We had to have our Field Spaniel named Rambo put to sleep because of brain cancer in Aug 2008. Second worst day of my life, I still can't talk about him very much without crying
Toni i know the feeling!,..where pets are concerned i am soft,..i lost friends and family over the years,..both in civilian life and in the forces,..but its pets that upset me most when they die.
Philip, So sorry to hear of Clara's passing. :'( I get a lump in my throat to think about it. She was a very lovely cat. I had Patches for 15 years. She was a beautiful Calico, and just about the best cat I've ever known. It was SO hard the days preceeding her passing. Nice that you have Hudson and Molly, and more kitties to help make you feel better.
Hi Kay, thank you!,..and sorry you were there with the loss of "Patches",..the loss is beyond words,..i doubt i will ever forget,.. as you will agree,..its only lately that i posted the "Ginger" video in YouTube and posted the link here,..i had it in another site where i wouldn't be reminded every day i logged in,..but circumstances changed and i had to send it to YouTube,..i can manage seeing it a little better these days. Clara,.. was another blow!,..at least i have her two kittens,.."Tiny",.. and "Clara2".
It's a sad day for us as we had to have our darling Busby put to sleep to save him further suffering. He had what so many other Flatcoated Retrievers had which is the big 'C'. Some of you may remember him, especially photos of him with our ginger tom Toby who is going to miss him as they were the best of friends. Here is a lovely photo of Busby when he was in his prime. RIP my darling boy. ( photo / image / picture from Gardengirl's Garden )
Gardengirl, :'( so sorry. I have a lump in my throat, because I know how sad it is to lose a wonderful pet.
As soon as I saw your post my eyes began to fill up. I felt as though I'd known Busby for years, through your posts, even although I'd never actually met him. My heart goes out to both you and your husband at this sad time.
Hi Gardengirl, so sorry to see that Busby has passed over,..i can only imagine how you and your husband feel,..its very sad.
Hello GG-- Yes, of course I remember Busby well. Condolences. Having to put an animal to sleep; even to avoid suffering, is always so very painful. Such a faithful pal will stay in your memory, I am sure. BTW, GG-- that is such a nice picture of Busby--He has such an expressive face in that foto. Wishing you strength and a lil hug.
Thank you so much for your kind messages. I think Toby is definitely missing Busby, after all he has been with him from a tiny kitten when he first came to us. We will have to get him another companion I think as he is looking for Busby and looks really lost, poor little thing.
Gardengirl, Did you see the thread about fatbaldguy losing his dog just recently? :'( Karma posted a great picture of a "dog" cloud that you might like to see. It is in the village square forum.
GG - hearing about your dear Busby made me cry too... I know how important he is to you. Like Eileen, after hearing about him and seeing his photos, I feel like I know him a little too. I am so sorry, I know it hurts terribly.
Thank you Daisy, it is still early days but I am sure it will ease in time as it has done so many times before. I know what you mean about almost knowing each others pets, with all the lovely stories and photos it brings us all closer. Kay, the photo that Karma posted is truly amazing.
It is a very sad day for Bob and I. We had to say our goodbyes to Missy this morning. Our vet came over and gave her the shot in our kitchen. We knew this day was coming, she was failing, but it is so very hard. She will be cremated, and we'll skatter her ashes at the lake where she came into our lives 5 1/2 yrs. ago. What a good dog she was. ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden ) Missy 5/09/98 - 12/07/11
