Boy Gail--that is imposing, isn't it. The loss of leaves hasn't begun to look bare yet...you still have that lovely scarlet colour in the tree.
I have many plants that change greatly going into winter. Here is my favorite one. Amsonia. It is brilliant green in summer. It is one of my favorite fall plants.
Sjoerd it's a beautiful site and in reality the colours are so rich plus there's a bronze and gold look amongst them but if it spreads a lot through the conifers it should be a nice sight for the eyes. Gorgeous colour barb reminds me of these in our back garden with the yellow, doing there second flowering before winter but they have gone larger in the last month and they're bright yellow at the moment plus the yellow growth of leaves as over road the daisy flower... a member as just done an ID for me (Choisya ternate) on them
Thanks mate it stops that colour all through the winter like yours and yellow gives off such a lovely glow but once it's finished flowering it will be cut back and the other one, as they're spreading over the pathway besides my Pieris.
Heather's starting to change for winter in purple / lilac and white Viburnum flowering properly for winter
