Oh no.. what a trying awful time. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and hope that the drs can diagnose you grandson soon. I hope it is over soon. Poor little Jake..Many hugs (careful ones) to him.
Good morning... and thank you all so much for your prayers and concern for Jake. Recently he was taking an antibiotic for an ear infection. The antibiotic killed all the good bacteria in his colon, and doctors say he was very near septisemia. Doctors found and started the right antibiotic and he was released late yesterday afternoon and will be on antibiotics for awhile. The 'bummer' about this ordeal for Jake is this week is his spring break. Again, prayer does make a difference and the family and I really appreciate your thoughtfullness.
Such a relief for all that he is on the mend. If he likes Yogurt, he should be eating three small cartons a day with live Cultures while on antibiotics. It replaces the good bacteria in the digestive system, prevents yeast infections and diarrhea. If he doesn't like Yogurt, he can take Acidolpholus capsules, they do the same thing.
Oh I'm so glad they worked out what was wrong with poor little Jake. I wonder why they prescribed a child such strong antibiotics in the first place though? You have to be really careful what medication you give to children as it can cause serious side-affects just like the ones your great grandson suffered. I hope that he'll now recovery quickly and soon be back to his usual self. Give him all our love.
Thanks, Toni, that is a great suggestion. DIL said he would love a flavored yogurt ... probably strawberry.
What a relief - and to think that Septicemia can set in so quick. Yep - yoghurt is the best medicine I can think of. Well I hope he gets better real soon and not feel too bad about 'missing' spring break.
Thank you for sharing that Gaylyn, you made my day a lot brighter. Give the little chap some very big hugs from us, won't you?
