Oh Toni….I am so very sorry. My mother passed away under similar circumstances many years ago, though the specifics are somewhat different. Her slow, gentle slide away from reality, and ultimately this life, gave us all time to prepare emotionally for her passing. Personally, mixed in with my grief and loss was a very real sense of relief too, for her, that this was over now, and that she didn't have to fight any more. And at the end, her body just sort of stopped.…..but not until a day arrived where her entire family had come to visit her. Typically we made sure that she never went a day without seeing one of us, but this particular day, due in part to some mis-communication, we all ended up arriving within minutes of each other. It was right after that she passed away. I think that's what she was waiting for. My deepest condolences to you and your loved ones.
