    Thank you for sharing the link! At least it sorted out the confusion - As it shows that I was not seeking to photograph a male, but a female... Since we never see these birds sitting on eggs in a nest, someone somewhere just pointed out that this is a female and this is a male - So I guess everybody assumed that to be the case. But thanks to your Wikipedia link, it is now clear which one is the male and which is the female. :)

    Ah so it is a member of the Cuckoo family - I did wonder. It's good to learn about a species that isn't known to you so many thanks again S-H for taking the time to photograph both sexes for us. Now that Green Fingers has posted the link everything has become much clearer in my mind.
