Thank you for sharing the link! At least it sorted out the confusion - As it shows that I was not seeking to photograph a male, but a female... Since we never see these birds sitting on eggs in a nest, someone somewhere just pointed out that this is a female and this is a male - So I guess everybody assumed that to be the case. But thanks to your Wikipedia link, it is now clear which one is the male and which is the female.
Ah so it is a member of the Cuckoo family - I did wonder. It's good to learn about a species that isn't known to you so many thanks again S-H for taking the time to photograph both sexes for us. Now that Green Fingers has posted the link everything has become much clearer in my mind.
