Nice container Netty. Toni, it is such a shame that you will have to go back to the nursery to find out the name of that geranium, I really hate that. I read somewhere that if you pull your geraniums up by the roots when they are finished, and shake all of the dirt off and store them in a shoe box overwinter, they will come back when planted the next year. I, of course, read this after I had already thrown mine away. I think I will try it this year.
Quote Toni (I can't find the label to tell you what variety they are, so I will just HAVE to make a trip to Calloways Nursery to get that info for you now won't I.) Yes u will Thanks Toni for posting more pic's of the very pretty geraniums. Netty that a nice arrangement u have there.
Netty, that arrangement is gorgeous. I am waiting for the black potato vines to show up at the nursery, that is usually what I plant around mine. Getting the name of that geranium will be a difficult thing to do, but I will be strong and just do it. We will be going to our favorite thrift store in the morning and will just have to make a stop at the Calloways nursery that is just around the corner from there. Gee, two 'have to go to' places and both of them are two of the most dangerous places for me to be on PAYDAY of all days. Plus I just found out about a new garden center that opened last weekend and it is around the corner from our favorite herb and gem shop.
That is exactly what I do! I store them in the basement all winter and check them frequently starting about the end of January. When they start to get new shoots, I pot them up again.
Stunning red. I take cuttings from mine in late summer and once they are rooted, overwinter them in the greenhouse then bring them out in May time to start flowering and looking fab. They are also quite easy to grow from seed. They do make such a great show, and I just LOVE that red.
