Return of the Insane Flicker!

    I finally found our local woodpecker on the tree out back just now, couldn't get a photo of him myself but this will show what he looks like.
    He has a red head but is not a redheaded woodpecker, he has a redish spot on his bellie so they named him the red-bellied woodpecker.

    What a stylish looking woodpecker Toni. Boy would I love to see those around the area :(

    Like Eileen said, the birds we have locally become common place and we do not even think about other people not having them.

    I have only seen the one woodpecker. If/when our neighbors landlord takes down that dead tree, I may not see that one again. :'(

    True about people not thinking about that, Bald Eagles have become an almost-common sight around here again in the last several years. And I love the gangly-legged Great Blue Herons. And my nightly visits from Henry, our resident barn owl.
