Does it need to be 160 on the oven? I think our stove only goes to 200 so I'd have to use the microwave or convection oven on the microwave.

Couldn't agree with this anymore. See my post on here called soil test. That garden has terrible soil as you will see by the results of the soil test. It grew more tomatoes peppers cucumbers and beans than I could eat. I gave a ton of it away. I'd love to see what it could do with good soil. However I planted all beefsteaks and romas in that garden last year. A lot of the beefsteaks were cherry sized tomatoes and I'm really wondering if the terrible soil wasn't the reason.

maybe your soil LOOKS s****y, but it has a reasonable amount of richness?
plants don't grow magically, they need reasonable soil...

makes sense to me that a typical back yard soil is going to require some work, like adding compost and such.

do poeple go nuts and over do it / over compliated it? most llikly.
some poeple are hell bent on perfection no matter what the cost.

and these are the people that are very successful and make posts/ videos, giving recommendations. so we new poeple dont knwo any better and figure we NEED this "custom pro mix"

but there seems to be, a point of diminishing returns.
the difference in production between a " custom pro mix " and " i just mix a bunch of compost into the native soil" is very little difference? MAYBE!

That was my point when I said use your brain instead of your bank account ! These people make money from their posts and blogs ! It pays them to have you read it and do what they say ! But until you have tried your soil and know how the vegetables are going to grow,, you are just spitting in the wind ! And you have nothing to compare results to ! Do you really need all this stuff they recommend,, probably not ! You may need to make a few adjustments but not like they say ! Talk to a few that have vegetable gardens in your area,,they will usually tell you straight up what you need !
