Sure reminds me of around here just a couple of years ago! Hope it doesn't rise so much to cause property damage. Doesn't look like Molly cares one way or the other! :-D
Hi Cheryl, the more water the merrier for Molly,..its a dream come true for a dog with webbed feet,..alas there will be lots of damage to property when it rises another 10 foot,..yep i predict 10 foot at least before Christmas. ------------------------------------------------------- Hi Kathyd, there is never a time when we can say it will subside,..there are huge dams way down river,..powering power stations turbines,.. but releasing water there floods areas further down river.
I can hear the river singing 'moving on up' ! ! ! And Mollie, as noted seems quite happy with the condition of the river... Thanks for including her in many of the photos, (she adds needed perspective as you're probably aware).. Hank
Hi Henry, "moving on up",..lol,..now that's what Molly sings and the more the better,..of course she will be restricted to smaller areas as each day passes as i wont be able to go down that canal road in a day or so,..but at least i can get to shops and the like,..others will be cut off.
Hi Philip,I seemed to have missed this thread what with havin my nose out there in everyone's gardens of late... Anyway, Gosh that is sure a lot of water! Is this unusual? Hope it is not doing a lot of damage. Molly doesn't seem to be concerned. She is so cute, as is your lovely family. Beautiful girls! This talk of flooding leads me to mention that I was in Nebraska City NE. yesterday, and was able to see first hand the damage that the summer flooding did near that area along the Missouri River. It was flooded most of the summer, and caused a very huge amount of damage. Many people have lost their homes, roads have been closed, and are only now being re-constructed.Farmers could not plant, thus have no income for the season. It was sobering to view, I had only seen pictures on TV news. I really hope the flooding there will not have these long term affects.
Others will be cut off? Oh dear. Ten more feet is a huge amount of water. Sorry this is happening. In a total non sequitur, your last photo with the sunshine is gorgeous.
