    The thought struck me: Am I living closer to them than you are? I've got two granddaughters and would hate it if they were so far away.

    Hi Droopy,
    you are very close to where my grandchildren live,.. they are just north of you,..where as i would have to fly across England,..then Norway before reaching Stockholm,Sweden,..i only see them on very rare occasions,..you are lucky to be so close.

    Luckily enough the water level has not risen any further than the three steps,..so knock on wood it remains there.

    Glad the river has stopped rising. It was quite scarey there for a while wasn't it?

    it sure was as it rose rapidly,..areas downriver are well flooded but so far nothing in the town.

    Hi Philip, the bridge with the arches is graceful, and I love the shot of the swan. Also the 2nd to last photo, the shot of the swan surrounded by birds in flight is fun. Glad your property and town is safe from rising waters.

    Hi Cayuga Morning,
    wow six days since i was last logged in,..blame it on the Christmas chores,..all completed today,..Cards sent,..presents bought,..shopping done,..now to sit back.

    Yes we are safe so far with the water level,..knock on wood,..and some people are on the water enjoying themselves,..plus the swans of course.
