I still like the orange ones! But they are all pretty. It looks as if it has been raining there Is the creek still rising? Hopefully you will get some of the beautiful weather we have been enjoying, pretty soon.
Hi Carolyn, here you go,..an orange rose,..as for rain,..we have had a full 48 hours of rain,..then a drizzle you would hardly see,..but venture out in it to take pictures, ,..and you get soaked taking five shots,..the river is still rising by the day,..i think it will rise by 16 foot or more,..but i will have pictures taken as it really starts to rise. Thank you Philip! :-D Nice choice. Hopefully the river won't overflow, or is it? running water is so disastrous and destructive! Horrible to experience.
Hi Carolyn, the river hasn't overflown as yet,..but it will,.. even though there are no warnings as yet,.. or sandbags built up just in case,..but i know from the early rise starting in September that its going to be a high riser this winter. ------------------------------------------------------ Hi Cayuga Morning, where my house is situated is atop a hill,..so no real worries there,.. but all around me will be flooded,..its never known just how high it will rise,..but roads are usually flooded,..sometimes houses and the flow can be pretty fast. So maybe that is why your roses are so gorgeous! All that rich silt from the river to enrich the soil.
Not far from the truth,..there are a few spots i gather decomposed leaves mixed with turf/peat,..it piles up to about 24 inches,..by the time i gather it you could let it strain through fingers as its composed to a very fine dry substance,..i then leave it in plastic sacks for the following season as any seeds that were in there would be dead by then. Just coming into bloom again. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden )
