Philip... does it sound like I've got the wee rose in a good environment?

Definitely!,..even better than where mine is,..outside in the hot house,..but its just humid in there,..i have to watch it doesn't get leggy,..you can keep a closer eye on yours,..i wouldn't let it go too dry,..that's the danger,..but under water rather than over water,..its the in between isn't it,..yours certainly looks healthy.

I've been tempted to feed it. But have stopped myself because I don't want to "burn up" it's roots.
Is this right? or would a light bit of fertilizer be good for it? I started the seeds in January or February.... or maybe even December.

    Hi Cheryl,
by all means feed it some fertilizer,..but half strength!,.. or even a tad less!..i have fertilized mine twice since they started,..no matter what you do just keep in mind how vulnerable it is at this size.

Half feed fertilizer,..plenty of light,..good air circulation,..and a spray of anti fungicide against disease,..remembering not to over water,..the latter kills!.

I have some stuff called "Superthrive" that I use only twice a year. When things first start waking up in winter and in late summer when they are struggling from the heat.

    from the label:
    "Activator, Reviver. Transplanter. Extra Grower.
    Add to fertililzing for growing.
Contains non-plant food. Dissolved solids, 25% of weight.
    0.09% Vitamin B
    0.048% 1-Napthyl acetic acid.
1 teaspoon per gallon of water....etc"

    It smells just like "Geritol"!
It was first recommended to me by a county extension agent when I had some struggling newly planted trees in New Mexico. Since then, I keep a bottle on hand.

Do you think it would be okay to give a little bit of this to the baby rose?

Hmmm... after reading the label again, maybe I should give everyone another drink of it pretty soon!

Will give it a tad bit... very diluted as you said. And I've yet to feed any of the other house plants. I think I'll give them a watered down drink of it too.
