I have seen something quite similar to your wire pegs on one of the landscaping shows on TV. I believe they are used to hold landscape fabric in place. You know that black stuff the weeds are not supposed to grow through. I think landscape centers, Lowes or Home Depot carry them. They are just the same as yours,, heavy wire bent into a U shape.

DANJENSEN--Man, that is bad news that you were not able to get any strawbs for yourself. I hope that you can protect them securely.

MART--It must work well for them, it sure does for me...and so easy to deal with.
Just the thing for a gardner--inexpensive and handy!

I use netting to cover my strawbs too. I dont remember if mine are everbearing or June...there's no berries right now, so guess Ill see in a few weeks. I use Landscape Staples (the ones Mart mentioned above) to keep mine in place :)

Well, I hope that your strawberries begin fruiting for you soon. Have the begun flowering yet?

Those staples sound like they are doing the job.

They bore fruit once already this year, and Im not seeing any new blooms...so maybe theyre the June ones.
The berries were yummy, but small (one bite and they were gone lol). I hope to have a bigger berry patch next year for more strawbs :)

Say Bip, do you still have a tag with the name of the type of strawbs that you have?
It's a good idea to extend your patch for next year. It is difficult to have too many strawbs. ;)
