I grow Meconopsis and other for the first time,I know that Meconopsis likes cold places,definitely will have problem in my island where the summer is very hot :-Dbut I try................................... :-D :-D
Well, I tried the blue himalayan poppy, i had many seedlings but i transplanted them too soon (even though in a shady area - no rains, all died!) I think it's kinda hard to grow these. I also sowed some blue ones in a tray. Will see if any seedlings pop up!
Hummerbum, Sorry to say this... but in Botany Latin is like English in business. Without it, you are lost. Not everyone in the world knows "common" names which are only common if you know them. I can say I speak pretty good English but as I haven't lived in an English speaking country I HAVE NO CLUE about common names. These Latin names can be "understood" everywhere in the world. In Romania, in Greece, in China, and so on They are not even Latin cause most of them are Latinized from real names ...like Jackmanii or Livingstonia...
