Hi Jewell,..well done in the rescue of those Snowdrops,..i can see them in your picture and in time they will produce clumps of white to really make you happy,..your Hellebore looks great as well,..yes its the look of spring.

My Dafs are getting ready to bloom as are Tulips and Lungworth,..not forgetting the odd brave rose.

Barb, you will love your hellebores once the snow melts. :stew1:

Phillip, I have Spanish bluebells coming up all over the yard. I am thinking I should be moving some of those around the edges in drifts also. Then the area will go from white drifts of snow drops to drifts of purple hyathins. If they are free (considered a weed here...but I like them) might as well make for a colorful ungrassed but mowable area :-D

Wow, the second show was even better that your first one.

Sorry to have ticked you off by not showing my blooms. Eek! :(

I keep forgetting to take my camera. Well, not really forgetting...it is so that when I plan on stopping by the supermarket on the way home I need both panniers on my bike, so I don't take the "garden bag", wherein the camera is nestled.

Gad!--I hope that I can remember to take it again before all the colour has gone. The verbernum has not yet fully opened. I would like to show that.

Anyway, thanks for another great picture showing. Your garden must be splendid at the moment. :)

    Sjoerd,
:D I am terribly ticked (or just terrible :D ) that you are not gracing GardenStew with lots of pics. I work in a room with no windows and often get home in the dark so the Stewbies help me get my vitamin D the virtual way.

I have gotten so lazy I use my poor quality phone camera but it crops the photos so the mess doesn't show. Still haven't cleaned up most of the phlox beds, so I make sure they aren't showing. I love the tidiness of your garden and many others pictured here at GS .

I am off to view newly entered photos to see if I have missed any postings :stew1:

New to me variety of hellebore. Had never seen the leaf color in a hellebore before. Now I just have to figure out where to plant it. Spring is so much fun.

I bought a few new-to-me plants recently. And luckily, I didn't go ahead and plant them because we have 3-4 days of freezing or near freezing temps next week. So, they'll all be tucked away tomorrow afternoon.
I also noticed all sorts of things springing back to life. Sure hope everything survives what surely MUST be the last of winter around here. :fingerscrossed:

This is a very interesting plant with its cream-coloured petals and remarkable leaves. I have never seen this one before. Niiiiiiiice.

Sjoerd, this hellebore is a new variety called Snow Fever Lenten Rose from the Gold Collection. One of our big box stores had these big plants at an unusually great price. Was hoping they'd get more in but guess they aren't. There is a large bulb and plant growing area just north of us. The Skagit Valley has a wonderful show of flowering bulbs every spring. :D

Good news Jewell. Are you planning to go to the spring show. If so, please take your fone with you to snap some foto's. :)

Did you buy just the one Helleboeus (Snow Fever Lenten Rose), or did you take at least two?

I still am not over how lovely and interesting that one is. --Great find.

Jewell, After looking at your hellebore and drooling over them I went to look for some on line and saw there are some that are offered as seeds. Do you ever collect the seeds and try to grow them or do they naturalize for you if you let the seeds drop to the ground?

It is official. The flowering cherry trees are blooming on the Main Street I drive coming home from work. They also line many of the side streets

Lovely photos Jewell! Beautiful cherry in bloom, a sight for sore (snow-filled) eyes. I also love your hellebores (particularly the 2 white ones, they took my fancy), & I congratulate you on your piracy of the snowdrops. They will reign in your lawn, looking beautiful for many years to come. I have idly considered doing "guerilla gardening", maybe when I retire & have more time. I like your (plant) spirit. My husband would commiserate with your husband.

I was surprised to see some beautiful old pieris japonica blooming as I hit the drive through. I have the white and maroon blooming varieties but didn't realized they also came in pink blooming and with a variegated leaf. I am such an amateur. How is one to ever learn about all the possibilities?
