Bitta, That's fescinating, while I know about the mechanics of the earth tipping on it's axis and parts of the world getting no sunlight and parts getting sunlight all day long. I have never corresponded with someone who lives in such a place, and for whom it is the norm. This adds some impact to the whole subject. Causes me to think about it more, and that's good. Thank you for getting the old brain moving a little faster, I'm interested in things science.

Gorgeous view, and dog. My lab mix loved the first snow of the season. She'd run around the backyard like crazy. After that she didn't want much to do with it.

Well Calamaar thats one of the things about living up here you either stay still an get totally board, or you keep your mind occupied an stay busy. I choose to stay busy no matter what it looks like outside. if its dark out an snowing, well there is alot you can do. you gotta keep the mind going no matter where a person lives, but i agree with the scientific view of the place because it breaks all the "supposed" things that are supposed to happen. example, i live way above the polar circle but its warmer here than below the circle,, thats not supposed to happen but it does...lol.
