Oh boy, EJ...this is good news, as resolving that ulcer may indeed be easier than correcting the combi--cholecystitis and pancreatitis. SZounds like the docs are doing a good job with her...and of course you guys are adding quite alot to her recovery by attending her during these days. Keep us posted.
Mum Hi EJ; I'm so sorry for your Mother's illness. I will add her to my healing list. I sure hope those antibiotics cure the inflammation and peritonitis. I'll add the docs to my prayers too. Please keep us informed, okay. We are with you.
EJ, so glad the doctors discovered the problem and are now treating it properly. I know she must be sore and bruised. We are thinking about you and still sending good thoughts your way. Keep us posted, please.
I'm glad they now know what her problem is and are treating it as such .My prayers are with her and all her family.
It must be a great relief to you and your mum to know that it's not cancer she's suffering from. Sounds as though she's geting the best treatment now and, fingers crossed, she'll soon be back to her usual self and all the tubes can be removed. Sending lots of love and healing vibes her way.
Great to know that the proper treatment has begun. I hope they are able to remove some tubes soon and make your Mum more comfortable. Sending good thoughts your way.
Thanks again folks. Visited mum again this afternoon. She is still poorly, but getting a little better everyday. They have removed some of the tubes, altho they are still giving her IV antibiotics every 4 hours. Can't remember if I told you that they want to put a camera down into her stomach to see how things are and if there are any more ulcers. I am all over the place at the moment trying to run the home, work, family and then the 2 hour drive to mum for a few hours, then the 2 hour drive back home again. Good job she's my mum!! Anyhow, fingers crossed, if the latest set of bloods show the infection has cleared up then she may be home to recover at the weekend, being treated as an out patient after that, but we shall see - I still think she is poorlier than she is letting on.
Thanks for the update, EJ...it's plain to see that you have your plate full, which means that you taking time to keep us posted is doubly appreciated. Figers ceossed that the antibiotics will help. It believe that it is a good idea that the docs have a look-see in the lower oesophagus, stomach and in the very upper snall intestine for signs of other ulcerations or even other perf sites. It's no good doing this half way, you know...can you imagine what a downer it would be if she had to come back to the hosp just after getting back home because they had missed another ulceration site. Wishing your mum all the best from over here behind the dikes. Hang in there!
