Palustris, that false solomon's seal is very pretty too! 2ofus, you might be able to give it a try, I have the same soil as you do, here at my new place. I was very surprised when I did a soil test in the spring. I did what sjoerd mentioned above when I planted mine last fall. I dug a pretty large hole out and filled it with garden soil I bought at HD then mixed it with the existing soil and planted it under the pine. I figured it would like the acid from the pine needles. It may work for you too. If mine decides to spread a lot I will send some over to you.
